Kwanzaa: The Village It Takes Community Celebration returns to North County St. Louis for an evening of culture, art, community, and celebration. This beloved event features: 1. A locally-sourced community dinner featuring ingredients grown in our own gardens, regional farms, and dishes from local restaurants. 2. A vibrant vendor market highlighting Black-owned and minority-led small businesses. 3. An original stage production, Kwanzaa: The Village It Takes, written by Community Arts Director Jessica Johnson, exploring the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa through storytelling, music, and performance. This celebration engages residents in healthy food access, economic empowerment, cultural education, and community-strengthening traditions.
